Originally fighting for the Legacy Amateur Series, when he became professional he had two of his five professional fights for Legacy Fighting Championship and one for Bellator.  Yanez makes his debut for the newly formed Legacy Fighting Alliance on 24th March in Houston, TX at LFA 7. In this bout, he faces another highly touted up and comer in the form of Domingo Pilarte (6-1). This fight comes after a seven-month layoff for Yanez, who is coming off a four-fight win streak. Previously, Yanez, who is only twenty-three but has been fighting since 2012, was training largely in a full time capacity. “Since my last fight, I’ve been working, training and trying…

Legacy Fighting Alliance 13 – Karen Darabedyan

By Lance Edwards   Karen Darabedyan (12-6) is a fighter best known for his time at Shark Fights and WEC, and who has previously fought at RFA. At LFA 13, he makes his debut for the promotion, fighting at 170 lb against Sam Liera (12-9). Darabedyan’s last fight was in June of 2016, a fight that saw him stopped via TKO. “After that fight, I took some time off to rethink. I was almost done fighting, but I didn’t want to go out that way. I wanted to go on to bigger and better things.” Darabedyan’s record doesn’t reflect his ability, and he is a fighter who without doubt hasn’t reached his full potential. Since 2010, Darabedyan has fought only four times, and with a one year layoff some might…

Allen is coming off a victory over Jon Kirk (19-15) which saw him finish in the first round in a bloody bout. “I felt everything happened a little fast. It threw me as he came out in southpaw. I should have sat down more, circled a bit, but it went as planned. You can’t complain when you don’t get hit.” Interestingly, Kirk stepped in as a…

What is unusual about Williams is that he has made a career of taking last minute fights against tough opponents and coming out victorious. At LFA 16, Williams faces the athletic prospect Geoffrey Neal (6-2) in what promises to be a great fight. Williams was riding a four-fight winning streak when he lost to Melvin Jordan (5-2) at LFC 61, in what many, including Williams, deemed a controversial stoppage. Williams bounced back at LFC 63 to defeat the tough Trey Houston (12-4). “Since the last fight I’ve been focusing on Jiu Jitsu, trying to get that better. I’ve been continuing to train my striking…

I dominated the fight and controlled all aspects of it. He caught mea early and broke my nose. He really only hit me once, but that broke my nose. That’s how it goes. I wanted to finish him, but at this level a lot of these guys are tough.” Bice is originally a South Dakota native, and it was there he had his start in the sport. “I’m from Winner, South Dakota. It’s a small…

The Black Eagle has fought for a variety of promotions including Legacy Fighting Championship, Bellator, WSOF as well as LFA.  At Legacy Fighting Alliance 26 he returns to the cage to defend his heavyweight title, a title Odoms won with a carefully executed strategy. “I thought the fight went well, I did what I wanted to do as far as controlling the fight and being able to use the strategy I wanted to do. Getting the finish was even better. I set things up since round one. I wanted to show the division and the viewers I could go five rounds.” Odoms submitted Vanderaa with an…

He faces Eric Scallan (13-4) in a return to national TV which will be vindication for Prater or a colossal setback. Prater is coming off a win but prior to that he was victorious in one fight in the last ten.  Prater feels the last few years haven’t been easy ones. “Well in late 2013 I had an injury. I had surgery then rehabbed most of 2014, came back…

The most recent victory was against Luis Luna (14-6) who he choked out at the end of the first round. “I was happy with the result. When I came in, I was worried he had nothing to lose. I knew he’d come out swinging. The fight was easy on my body and it was good to come out with a win. He’s fought some…

At Legacy Fighting Alliance 33, Menifield looks to send a shot over the bows of the division when he faces the gritty Maori, Brice Ritani-Coe (4-4). Originally from Compton, California, Menifield didn’t have the easiest start in life. As a child he became a ward of the state and stayed in numerous foster homes.
