Legacy Fighting Alliance 14 – Brendan Allen

By Lance Edwards   At Legacy Fighting Alliance 14, fans of the promotion will be treated to what could be the fight of the year. In a middleweight title bout, LFC and LFA veteran Brendan Allen (7-1) faces former Alabama linebacker LFA and Bellator veteran Eryk Anders (7-0). Both fighters had extensive amateur records with Allen accumulating a 13-0 record and Anders going 13-3-1. Allen is coming off a victory over Jon Kirk (19-15) which saw him finish in the first round in a bloody bout. “I felt everything happened a little fast. It threw me as he came out in southpaw. I should have sat down more, circled a bit, but it went as planned. You can’t complain when you don’t get hit.” Interestingly, Kirk stepped in as a…

Legacy Fighting Alliance 14 – Colbey Northcutt

By Lance Edwards   Colbey Northcutt may not be someone at this point that you are familiar with, but if you only have a passing interest in MMA you have heard of her brother Sage Northcutt. Between 2012 and 2014, Colbey fought in five amateur MMA bouts, and had one of the most clicked interviews on the Legacy Fighting Championship website gaining more interest than any other amateur fighter, including her brother at the time. Her brother has gone on to have a successful professional MMA career, and now it is Colbey’s turn to start her pro career. At Legacy Fighting Alliance 14, at the Arena Theatre in Houston, TX she will face fellow pro-debuter Courtney King.   Similar to her brother, Colbey has a strong background in karate, which…

Legacy Fighting Alliance 14 – Roberto Sanchez

By Lance Edwards   Legacy fighting Alliance 14, sees one of the most anticipated bouts of the year taking place as co-main event. Roberto ‘Little Fury’ Sanchez (6-0) takes on Jerome Rivera (7-0) for the LFA 125 lb title. Sanchez is coming off a win against Klayton Mai (8-3) who had previously faced Matt Schnell for the Legacy Fighting Championship strap. Many felt that Mai would win the bout, and sold Sanchez short.   “He was a tough opponent. Everyone was telling me to watch out for his guillotine choke, it’s his specialty and he has finished 6-7 tough fighters with it. He went for it in the first round, so I had the chance to experience it firsthand. I’m not going to lie, it was good. I can see…

Legacy Fighting Alliance 14 – Dulani Perry

Love him or hate him, Dulani Perry is a polarizing figure in MMA. Following his last fight at LFA 7, Perry was very verbal in his scorn for other fighters’ abilities. He also mocked his opponent during his fight, which he won. Former LFC champion Steven Peterson took umbrage at the comments, resulting in him wanting to face the up and coming Perry. At LFA 14, Perry was due to face Adrian Yanez (5-2); however, Yanez withdrew from the fight, and David Acosta (5-1) has stepped in to take his place. Perry originates in New York, and has been living in Texas for around five years. At five years of age, his parents started him in karate. In 2009, Perry moved to Texas to study Auto-collision repair. Whilst in Texas,…

Legacy Fighting Alliance 14 – David Acosta

By Lance Edwards   David Acosta (5-1) is an up and coming fighter hailing from Team Alpha Male in California. Originally a native of the Houston area, Acosta made the move to Team Alpha Male in 2015. At Legacy Fighting Alliance 14, this Legacy Fighting Championship veteran makes his debut for the promotion, when he faces the outspoken Dulani Perry (3-0). For Acosta, fighting for LFA is a natural progression. “I was a fighter for Legacy nearly my entire career. I had five amateur fights for them, won the title and had my first four professional fights for them. I then had two fights with Fury in the Houston area and now LFA. I like to fight in Houston. It allows me to combine fighting with seeing my family and…
